The Surrey Jaguars, one of the six teams competing in the Global T20 Canada League, paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Indian singer Sidhu Moosewala. The franchise shared a minute-long video on their social media accounts featuring Moosewala’s parents.

Jaguars Welcome Moosewala’s Family in Emotional Tribute

Formerly known as the Edmonton Royals, the Surrey Jaguars made a touching tribute to the late Indian rapper Sidhu Moosewala. The Punjab-based singer was tragically killed by unidentified assailants in May 2022.

Over a year after his death, the Surrey Jaguars warmly welcomed Moosewala’s family into their community. The team posted a video on Instagram, showing them holding a Jaguars jersey emblazoned with one of Moosewala’s pseudonyms, 5911.

The video also featured his parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, interacting with several franchise officials. The Jaguars captioned the video with:

“This is a small tribute to the legend Sidhu Moosewala, who illuminated our lives with his music and spirit. We are truly grateful to Sardar Balkaur Singh Sidhu and Mrs. Charan Kaur Sidhu for giving us this opportunity, and we welcome them wholeheartedly to our Surrey Jaguars family.”
